Description

Track your travels with this patriotic cork map. A dab of Krazy Glue® Instant Adhesive enables you to create this masterpiece without the mess and burns from a glue gun.

Supplies

  • Plywood cut to 30" x 40"
  • 24" x 48" piece of cork 
  • Red acrylic paint
  • Blue acrylic paint
  • White acrylic paint
  • Painter’s tape
  • Flag thumbtacks
  • Any Krazy Glue Max Bond Super Glue
  • X-ACTO® Knife

Steps

  1. Enlarge a drawing of the United States to 24" x 48".
  2. Cut out states with an X-ACTO.
  3. Trace states onto cork. Cut out.
  4. Prime plywood board.
  5. Paint a red base with the red acrylic paint.
  6. Tape off stripes with painter's tape. Paint alternating large stripes with the blue paint and smaller alternating stripes with the white paint. Peel off tape. Let dry.
  7. Place cork states together to form the United States. After they are assembled, start in the center and glue the states from the center outward to the painted plywood board with Krazy Glue.
  8. Continue gluing states from the center until you have finished gluing all the states in place. Let dry.
  9. Use thumbtacks to track places you have visited or plan to visit.
